At present the Department is situated in the first floor of P G Building

Introduction of M Com course during 1974-75 was a significant milestone in the history of the College. Hundreds of Post Graduate Students in Commerce have been produced during the last 30 years and many of them have occupied good positions in Industry Academics and other service sector of the economy.

                  The Department is proud to claim that it has many number of Doctorate degree holders on the teaching faculty having considerable and research experience. They frequently published articles on Commerce and Management Areas in reputed Journals and participate in Various Seminar/ Conferences by presenting Papers. One of the members of the faculty, Dr. V K Bhaskara Rao received the “BEST TEACHER AWARD” from the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh during the year2000-2001. The Dept. has been elevated to the status of Research Centre in Commerce and Management by Acharya Nagarjuna University. The Department conducts UGC sponsored work shops/ seminars by inviting eminent people from industry and Academics from all over the country. The main motive behind the conduct these Programmes is to expose the staff and students to the latest developments in the field of Commerce and Management  and help them to upgrade their skills.

                  The founder head of the Department was Sri K P Prabhakara Rao, M Com, I P S (1974-75) who subsequently joined in Indian Police Service and is now in C B I occupying a senior position. The other stalwarts who served the Dept. were : Sri C Krishna Kumar M Com, ICWA, who later started his own Management Consultancy firm, Sri M Mariyanna  M Com who subsequently joined State Bank of India and is now working at senior level position in the bank.Dr. Anuradha, M B A Ph.D. who served  this Dept. for two years and is now heading the M B A Dept. of P B Siddardha College at Vijayawada, Prof. S B Nageswara Rao M Com, Ph. D. who served here for more than a decade and is now the Director of Distance Education of Annamalai University, Prof. G Anjaneya Swamy M Com Ph.D. who worked here for a decade is now the Prof., School of Management of Pondicherry University, Prof. C Ram Prasada Rao M BA Ph.D. here for more than nine years is now with the Management Department of S K University, Anantapur, Prof. K Ramamohana Rao M Com Ph.D. who worked here for a few years is now with the Department of Commerce and Management Studies of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Dr. R Krishna M Com Ph.D. who worked in the Dept. for 10 years has retired from service, Dr. C Anil Kumar M Com Ph.D. who worked here for a few years is now the Principal of PG Courses of T J PS College, Guntur.
