Profile: The Department of Chemistry, established in 1951, was founded by Sri Subbaiah Naidu. Since then the Department has been considered to be the biggest Department of the College. Several well known Teachers of Chemistry enriched this Department over the years. Among them were Sri A Satyanarayana M.Sc., Dr. M.Balankeswara Rao, D.Sc.,Sri T. Krishana Murthy. M.Sc., Sri K Sambasiva Rao. M. Sc., Sri. J. Gopalakrishna Murthy. M.Sc.,Sri V Veeraiah. M.Sc., Sri R V Narsaiah.M.Sc., Dr. N Nageswara Rao. Ph.D., Dr. C Papa Rao. Ph.D., Sri K Subba Rao.M.Sc., Sri G Chenchu Ramaiah. M.Sc., Sri. V Lakshmana Rao.M.Sc., Sri J Sambaiah.M.Sc., Dr. K Sivanarayana Ph.D., Sri M Adinarayana., Sri Y Pallaiah., Sri M Nagabhushana Rao. Now the Department has Sri S I Shariff, M.Sc., at the helm. He has keen interest in participating in social service activities. He heads the local Mosque committee and ensures communal harmony to prevail. The other members in the Department include Smt. D Naga Siromani, M.Sc. who is the convener of College Women Students Welfare Committee (2004-05), Sri. Y Hanumantha Rao, M.Sc. who has specialized in Analytical Chemistry and also acted as programme officer of NSS Unit of the College (1992-95), Sri N Prakasa Rao, M.Sc., Sri Bala Subba Rao, M.Sc. an Organic Chemistry Specialist, Sri N Subhakar, M.Sc., Smt. B K K Vani, M.Sc., B Ed., Smt. P Neerada M.Sc., Ms. V Roja Rani, M.Sc., B.Ed., Sri P Varada Charyulu, M.Sc., a specialist in Applied Chemistry, Sri R Choudary, M.Sc., an Organic Chemistry specialist.
