Profile:
The History of the Department of
Commerce is as long and eventful as the history of the
college. The department was started in 1951. The Department is
now headed by Dr. T. Rosaiah, Reader. He did his M.Phil and
Ph.D. He was inducted in 1983 in NCC as second Lieutenant and
he rose to the rank of Major in 1998 after going through all
the ordeals as an ANO. He is the co-author of Banking and
Financial System study material of distance education ofAcharya
Nagarjuna
University
.
The following is the
list of his achievements, which the college can feel proud
of.
- Secured 2nd position in all India
Refresher courses (R/SD/PT-111-62) conducted at Kamptee in
September 1997.
- Received merit certificates four times
from the Collector and District Magistrate, Prakasam Dt. for
Janma Bhoomi activities.
- Received the first Gold Medal as the
best ANO (Senior Division) in AP directorate on the eve of
NCC Golden Jubilee (1998) in the very first year of
Introduction.
- Received the Certificate of
Commendation from the Superintendent of Police, Prakasam Dt.
for attending to bandbust duties in person for the 1998
general elections.
- Received in 2003 'Director General of
NCC Commendation' for Air Commodore from James Sebastian,
Deputy Director General of NCC, AP Directorate, for
outstanding contribution to NCC.
The other faculty members are Sri. P. Radha
Krishna Murthy, M.Com., M.Phil., specialized in man power
planning, Sri. Y. Srinivasa Rao, M.Com., M.Phil., BLISc,
