Department of
Economics:
The Department was headed by an
outstanding teacher Sri. D.R.K. Hanumantha Rao, M.A., for more
than 3 decades followed by Sri G. Subrahmanyam, M.A., an
acclaimed author of books in economics for U.G. and P.G.
studies. Sri. T. Madhava Rao, M.A., Sri. P. Singaiah, M.A.,
served the Department with distinction. Now the Department is
headed by Sri. M. Brahmaiah, M.A., who is in charge of the
College Red Cross unit. He is also in charge of
the Acharya Nagarjuna University Centre of Distance Education
Study Centre in the College. He is the cultural contributor of
a vernacular daily. He worked as investigator for the project
titled “Socio-Economic Survey of Krishna Delta Region” during
1983 – 1985.
Sri T. Sambasiva Rao, M.A., is another
faculty member who also acted as NSS Coordinator. He teaches
Economics at the three study centres of Distance mode of
Education situated in the College.
