Profile: The Department was headed for 3 and half decades by Sri. V. Aswatha Narayana, M.A., who is known for his grit and perseverance. This could be vouched by the fact that he continued his research work even after retirement and relentlessly fought in securing the much deserving Ph.D. Men like Sri. Veeram Raju Venkateswarlu, M.A., an author of repute, Sri. U. Prahlada Guptha, M.A., Sri. K. Samba Siva Rao, Sri. K. Sivanada Sastry, M.A., Sri. G. Neelambram, M.A., Politics, B.Ed., is also acting as Secretary and Correspondent of a local aided minority Jr. College. have had their share of contribution to the Department.

        Now the Department is headed Sri. Y. Ranganayakulu, M.A., who is one of the senior most members of History faculty in Acharya Nagarjuna University Area. He served for two years as programme officer for National Adult Education Programme. The other members of the Department are Sri. Y. Krishna Murthy., M.A., who co-ordinates the activities of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University Study centre located in the College campus and who also teaches history at Andhra University Distance Education centre, Acharya Nagarjuna University Distance education centre and B.R. Ambedkar Open University Study Centre located in the College.
