             One of the pioneering Departments of the College, the Department of Mathematics was started 1951 with Sri Y.V. Nagabhushana Rao M.Sc as lecturer. The Department has been fortunate to have some eminent mathematicians of repute on its faculty like Sri C. Ramachndra Rao who worked in this Department for some time went on to join the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The well known mathematicians of this area Sri K. Satyananda Reddy, Sri C. Venkaiah, Sri P. Innaiah, Sri. P. Girija Sankara Rao and Sri K. Subba Rao worked in this Department. Sri R. Subbarao is another gentleman who worked in this Department for few years.
                 Sri. K. Satyanarayana Reddy and Sri. P.G. Sankara Rao also served the College as Principal for a few years. At present Smt D. Usha Rani M.Sc. is heading the Department. She is SLET qualified candidate. The other members of the Department are Sri. S. Azgar Ali Baig, M.Sc, Sri T. Koteswara Rao M.Sc, Smt M. Sowjanya M.Sc, (M.Phil), Ms P. Lavanya Lakshmi, M.Sc, M.Phil.
